Michel’s Patisserie, since it was established in Sydney in 1987 by joint founders Noel Roberts and Noel Carroll, has grown into an entity turning over more than $220 million annually with over 320 retail outlets across Australia.

Michel’s strongly recognise that integral to their continued aggressive growth is their IT systems. They wanted a partner that could think strategically about IT and help realise their business goals and company vision. The Cavalry was chosen for such a partnership and are now strategically aligning IT with the company’s core business objectives.

Horses for Courses
Wednesday, September 12, 2007

In the horse racing world, it is widely assumed that a given horse will race better on certain courses than on others. What is suitable for one might be unsuitable for another.

In the business world, an IT solution that is suitable for one business may not be suitable for another.

In his article ‘Centralising IT gives rise to bureaucracy’, Neil McAllister argues that outsourced IT organisations generally focus too much on company-wide IT policies but instead should place “greater emphasis…on individual user needs, with a renewed focus on desktop support”. In the article he concludes that “until businesses are willing to invest in IT commensurate with its role in day-to-day operations, we shouldn't expect IT to help improve our computing experience”.

Unlimited IT support at a fixed price means that your IT investment is in line with the importance of IT in your day-to-day operations. We look after everything that is IT related, from individual desktop issues to company-wide IT strategy.

The Cavalry recognises that your horse, that is, your business, is going to run best on the track that is most suited to you. By aligning IT with your business outcomes we'll help to keep you on track and performing optimally.
